Take a Tour to South Tucson: Admiring its Colorful and at Times Hectic History

The city of South Tucson is a tiny city located in the downtown area of the Tuscan city. The city was initially incorporated in the year 1936. In the year 1938, it was dis incorporated and again reincorporated in the year 1940. Today, it is spread across one square mile and is popular for its colorful and at times hectic history. The city is surrounded by the city of Tuscan on all the sides and has a population of roughly 5500 American with more than 83% being of Mexican origin.

The city is largely influenced by Mexican and Hispanic culture, which is evident in all aspects of the country. There are numerous shops, stores, eating joints and restaurants spread all across the city that sell traditional Mexican food and other varied goods.

The ethnic and traditional character of the city is very much visible in the architecture style of the city that includes colorful and vibrant murals. There are large numbers of visitors visiting the metropolitan area in the month of August to enjoy the annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade. A street fair and Norteno Music Festival is also held during the same time and is a must visit.

There are abundant things to do in South Tucson. There are incredible local museums that include International Wildlife museum and Arizona Historical Society Downtown Museum. There is a plethora of recreational activities such as Tucson Greyhound Park, the Catalina State Park and the Arthur Pack Regional Park. San Xavier del Bac and The Spanish colonial church are also worth visiting.
