Saguaro National Park

Saguaro National Park is the part of the US national park system and is situated in Arizona State. This park is one of the favourite destinations of Tucson traveler. No matter whether you are on a holiday or for any other reason in Tucson, Saguaro National Park is a must place to visit.

Tucson divides this park into two sections the first is Rincon Mountain District which lies to the east of the Tucson and the second is Tucson Mountain district which is 30 miles west of the Tucson. Both the sections of the park have a visitor centre for the convenience of the tourist and the visitors. This park is easily accessible through Tucson by a car but there is no public transport available as such.

The name of this park is derived from the saguaro cactus which is also a native to this region. There are also many other varieties of cactus found in this park. You will have an exciting experience while visiting this park and will also get an opportunity to have a look at the ecosystem of the desert closely through Desert Ecology Trail.

You will see millions of plants and animals living in this fragile ecosystem. You can even collect a brochure from the visitor centre to know more about the interesting ecology of the desert.

There is a unique thing about the Rincon Mountain District of the park that it starts in the Sonoran desert and finally leads into coniferous forest of Rincon Mountains. Thus you will have many other unique and interesting experiences while visiting Saguaro National Park. There are many well maintained and marked hiking trails and short walking trails in this park which will enhance your excitement.
