Sabino Canyon Pet Resort Information

In the eastern foothills of the Santa Catalina mountain range lies Sabino Canyon. It's a desert oasis home to spectacular desert landscapes and abundant wildlife. During the winter and summer rainy seasons, the canyon offers much more than groves of ocotillo and prickly pear cactus. Pools of water form in rocky outcroppings, presenting spectacular views for guests.

Just take your little pets and Sabino Canyon Pet Resort helps you to take care of them and give them a fun vacation while you're away. SCPR is recognized as the premier pet boarding and grooming facility in Tucson.

Located at 2001 N. Sabino Canyon Road, the Sabino Canyon Pet Resort is operated and owned by Anne Donnellan since 1993. SCPR is committed to providing impeccable highest level of pet care to make sure the little ones have fun. Be sure to check out the hours to smooth your travel.

The pet resort is open from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. It's available from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Tours are offered from 10 am to 4 pm from Monday to Saturday. You can stop by for an informal tour and give your pets a fantastic vacation. Knowledgeable receptionists will show you around and help to make arrangements for your pets' vacation. Tours are not offered on Sundays or during the week of major holidays.

Sabino Canyon Pet Resort is closed on major holidays, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day and Labor Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, SCPR is closed at 12 noon. Please notice that no drop off or pick up is given and kenneled animals are cared for by kennel staff on these days.

Sabino Canyon Pet Resort proudly provides pampering services for your pets. All these services and add-on activities aim to make your pets stay the best it can be. Three major types of services are available.

- Boarding Services

1) Dog Boarding

SCPR offers clean and safe environment for dogs, including meticulous attention to your pets and their needs. All boarding areas are heated during the winter and cooled in the summer months. Bedding and a good selection of premium dog foods are offered. For smaller dogs, a small dog area is prepared. It's separated from the boarding area for larger dogs.

To make sure your pets enjoy fun, indoor/outdoor kennel runs are offered. Your dogs can breathe fresh air and have enough room to stretch their legs. Dogs are kept indoors at night and they can lie on the beddings for comfort and safety. They can enjoy access in and out all day during the regular office hours. Of course, the outdoor areas are covered by a roof. Standard indoor/outdoor runs cost $21.95 per night. When in shared Kennel, your second dog can receive 20% off.

If you desire something different for your dogs, the Deluxe Suites can be a good option. Suites are made more like a hotel room and are quieter with more privacy. Deluxe Suites also have a raised cot bed. The suites make for a good choice for more timid dogs and older dogs. You need to pay $29.95 every night for Deluxe Suites. A second pet can receive 20% off when in shared Suite.

2) Cat Boarding

The Cattery is specially designed for cats boarding. It's tucked away from dog boarding areas and all cats are kept at a pleasant 78 degrees for more comfort. Your cats are sure to feel free and comfortable with hiding spots and perches. Premium foods and lambskin bedding are provided. To make your cats' stay easier, SCPR also provides optional kitty treats and snuggle time. Every night for your cats needs $12.95 and you can receive 20% off for a second cat when sharing a room.

3) Other Pets

Sabino Canyon Pet Resort takes pride in offering comfortable boarding for pets of all kinds, like hamsters, snakes, lizards, fish, large & small birds, rabbits and guinea pigs etc. These pets will be charged per habitat or per cage, instead of per pet. For pocket pets, small birds and small reptiles, the boarding rate is $8.95 per night or per enclosure. Large birds and extensive care exotics are charged $11.95 per night or per enclosure.

- Grooming Services

Top of the line grooming services are offered at Sabino Canyon Pet Resort. All their professional pet stylists are knowledgeable in the individual needs for each breed. Top notch natural shampoos and conditioners are utilized to make your pets' skin and coat look and feel fabulous.

The salon is open 7 days a week and has flexible appointment times. But appointments are not accepted on Sundays as Sunday is only for leaving dogs baths. Cats and dogs of all breeds & sizes are accepted for grooming services. There're three types of grooming services.

Complete Grooming includes a comfortable bath, ear cleaning, grand expression and nail clipping. Of course, your pets can have a haircut to best suit your pets' needs. A Bath & Brush does not have the haircut. It adds a lot of brushing to get your pets' pesky undercoat under control. The Professional Grooming can help to avoid many problems for your pets, like periodontal disease, parasites excessive shedding, matting and overgrown nails.

- Adds-On Services

Sabino Canyon Pet Resorts is proud to offer a wide selection of add on services to enhance the enjoyment of your pets stay. The add-on services are divided into three categories.

A La Carte

- Playtime: Your pets can have 15 minutes of ball throwing and dog park style fun. Your dogs can play with or without other dogs based on the personality assessment.

- Potty Break: When your dogs don't potty in the runs, just give them a few minutes outside without other dogs to take a quick potty break.

- Swimming: If you're looking for a great way to cool off your dogs, take your dogs for a 20-minute of pool time for swimming. Swimming also works for older dogs as a therapeutic outing as well.

- Bedtime story: You may read stories for your kids every night and your pet lies by your side! Trust me! He can be enjoying the reading very much. You can read a book to your pets before bedtime if you like.

- There're many other food services for your pets, such as Tuna on a Ritz, Busy Bone and snacks. The foods and snacks are sure to be your pets' big treats.

In addition to these separate services, several types of packages are available to keep your pets truly enjoyed and entertained. You can pick up the most suitable one for your pets' needs. Packages are listed as below:

- Pampered Pooch: When you're seeking the ideal way for your pooch to spend an afternoon, nothing is better than a snuggle time and an ice cream treat! Your pooch is sure to like it.

- Double Play: Sabino Canyon Pet Resort offers Double Play to present your pooch with unexpected excitement.

- Pampered Kitty: Why not get your kitty purring with the luxurious package by the resort. A snuggle time with some catnip together with tuna piled high are included.

- Snack N' Play: The package consists of one playtime, a Treat Time ice cream and a Busy Bone.

- Busy Bundle: For owners who want to keep their pets as busy as a bee during a day, the Busy Bundle makes the perfect option. Your pets can enjoy a morning and evening playtime. Amid a day, a Busy Bone and Treat Time are offered.

- Splash N' Play: Sabino Canyon Pet Resort also offers favorable packages for active water loving pets. One Swim Session and one playtime can keep your pets high without doubt.

Many visitors are worrying whether their pets can be taken good care as they have some special needs, like medication or special diets. Don't worry! Sabino Canyon Pet Resort offers spectacular services for pets with varying needs.

For pets with special diets, you need to package the foods in a sealed container. And you must label your container with your pet's name, including the feeding instructions. For raw cooked diets, the resort provides a refrigerator freezer to store the foods. There's an additional $1 charge each day for your own foods.

If your pets have special medication needs, you can bring the medications, which should be clearly labeled with the dose needed for your pets. A $0.5 surcharge is needed per administration for the service. Insulin shots can be done at the pet resort as well.
