The Reid Park Zoo is a city owned non profit zoo located in Tucson, Arizona. The zoo was founded in the year 1965 with a collection of more than 500 animals. The collection includes prairie digs Farm animals, birds, squirrel monkeys and more. The zoo is located in a 17 acres land.
The zoo receives more than 500,000 visitors annually. The park was established officially in the year 1967 and it was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The unique feature of the zoo is its medical facility by which they are able to treat the animals which complained by cancer. They treat the animals using the radiation and heat therapy.

The animals in the Reid Park Zoo are from various areas around the world. The animals include African Lion, Andean beer, capybara, giant anteater, llama, Malayan sun bear, Visayan Warty pig and many more. The zoo will be open all the day except some special events. The hours of park are from 9am to 4pm. There is sufficient parking area near the entrance of the zoo.
You can bring your children here to explore their knowledge about the diverse animals in the zoo. There are zoo volunteers who are called as Docents helps in educating the visitors about the wild life. You can also join as the member in the zoo to enhance the value of the zoo.
